Royal Athletic Park - 2007 U-20 FIFA World Cup
The 2007 U-20 FIFA World Cup was held at six (6) sites across Canada, including Victoria, Burnaby, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. The Victoria venue site, Royal Athletic Park, consisted of an existing 2,500 seat stadium. To host the World Cup event 9,000 temporary seats, as well as temporary and portables structures for ‘back of house’ purposes, were provided. During the event, the Victoria venue was described by the FIFA President as the most intimate venue and, as a result, the venue with the best crowd atmosphere.
