The National Ice Complex at Canada Olympic Park includes two sheets of NHL ice, one international size community rink, one 1,500-seat international size spectator rink, and a six-sheet curling rink. The facility is home to Canada’s national men’s and women’s hockey teams, and provides cross-training facilities for the ski-jumping, bobsled, luge, skeleton, and figure skating teams. Cross training facilities will include six full size gymnasiums, a gymnastics hall, fitness centre, and conditioning spaces.
The National Ice Complex is planned around a central five-storey galleria affording views into all ice components as well as the cross training spaces. The galleria, through oversized banners, images, and animated displays, recounts the Canadian experience with ice sports.
